Hello - Goodbye {Blogland}

Hello Blogland Friends, it is with a heavy and anxious heart that I am deciding to exit my journey as a blogger and shop owner indefinitely. I will share my reasons but first let me say tht I have enjoyed the ride and have enjoyed my friends and time here. I am going to let going of everything and trust that I am choosing the right path. I feel that an immediate removal of this from myself with keep me from swaying from the path that I am being called. I am sorry for this abrupt change farwell but I am already on another road. One that I am excited to share with you:

I was listening to Follow You by Leeland when I heard God’s call to coordinate a Teen MOPS (mothers of preschoolers) for the many teens in my area that are pregnant and those that already have young children. (It would baffle you how such a small area could produce so many teen moms.) I was struck by the words in the song All my needs You have supplied, when I was dead you gave me life. How could I not give it away so freely? How could any of us not give it away so freely? Our God is amazing to us!

That being said, I have decided to lay my dreams aside and pursue one that God is building a fire within me for. As much as I love the creative arts and creating with my hands I have decided to close my business and myself as an artist for the time being. God is telling me to lay it all down right now and as hard as it is for me, I am going to do it. I would not have been open to this a couple months ago but in a moment the Spirit within me changed everything. At the time, I didn’t know that I was going to be asked to give up such a core portion of who I am. It is very hard. But what God has given to me is too great not to share it more than I do now. It should be my life.

Starting this Teen MOPS is so very important to me. God is orchestrating everything and it is going to be a great experience and hopefully a blessing to our community. Please keep me and this ministry in your prayers. I will miss this more than any of you will ever know. I am going to delete this blog after a week as a final step to show my commitment to this cause. Blessings and peace over all of you.

Out and About Finds

Flea Markets? Who needs them? I am just kidding. I am only saying that because I am wishing I had some. :) This, I have to settle for the seasonal garage sales. There truly aren't many good ones, I'll tell you that but the last two weekends I have done alright. If you can get the good stuff at a garage sale you can score even better deals though because sometimes people just don't know what they have.

I found these brass colored cake toppers that I think I will spray paint.
What color should I choose?

Who would keep their pennies for paint-worn ballerinas?

I found these beautiful glass chandelier crystals. My hope is to one day find a beautiful brass chandlier at a garage sale for cheap and paint it and embellish it with prism crystals. I just won't budge on an expensive one. I won't show you all the fantastic beauties that I bought last weekend because you would cry when I told you how little I paid. Those are the times when garage sales are a better pay out than a flea market. But I got tons of beautiful laces, jewelry, papers and oh so much more. I will put some in the shop when I get past all my MOPS events this summer. :)

Cottage Charm Giveaway!

Glass Glitter Vials {Giveaway Day 7}

I pull from my boutique all 20 German Glass Glitter Vials for today's giveaway! These are so pretty to just have in your studio or art space.

This is how I display mine on a ledge above my work table. These vials are not itty bitty. They are 10 mL bottles and hold 2 Tablespoons of glass glitter, which goes a long way. These 20 colors will keep one lucky winner busy for awhile.

Lace Flower Cuff {Giveaway Day Six}

Adicia Perry {Giveaway Day Four}

Adicia has generously donated a beautiful pair of crystal drop earrings with pink and clear crystals and sterling silver beads and fish hooks. I was tempted to keep them. :) They come in this shabby pink bag.

I have also included in this giveaway Soar, an upcycled bracelet made from vintage findings and jewelry bits. This will go to the same winner as the crystal drop earrings.
